Bumiputra youths in Malaysia face ongoing challenges in entering and sustaining jobs within the hospitality industry. While many show strong interest, barriers such as limited industry exposure, skills mismatch, language confidence, and lack of mentorship often affect job readiness. Additionally, the industry’s demanding work culture and long hours can impact their ability to remain in roles long-term. Strengthening practical training, career guidance, and workplace support is key to improving retention and enabling Bumiputra youths to build stable, sustainable careers in hospitality.
